A £150 Deposit is required to secure a place on a course, which can be paid by Cheque or Bank Transfer.

Trade-Ability has developed a training program that will take you through all the basic principles of laying bricks professionally and give you the acumen to build the correct structure. By the end of this course you will be able to stand back and proudly admire your handy work. You will gain all the theoretical and practical knowledge in order for you to build walls with confidence

A comprehensive set of handouts are issued on all aspects of the course and can be used as a step by step guide when you start work on your own. 

Have an understanding of:

•How to calculate the number of bricks needed per square metre of wall surface. 

•What equipment is required and how to use it. 

•The correct use of ties in cavity walling, pillars and piers 

•Stretcher Bond, American Common Bond, Flemish Bond, English Garden Wall Bond 

•Cut bricks correctly (Queen closers, Half bat, Quarter bat)

•Structural footings and foundations. 

Be able to: 

•Build a return wall with cavity, DPC, wall ties, window, lintel and Soldier course. 

•Construct a 9 inch Garden wall with decorative face work 

•Point face work 

•Build a Radius and Arch in brickwork
