Training Courses provided by Trade-Ability

As part of my resettlement from the RAF I attended the courses in plumbing, bricklaying and plastering provided by Mr Leigh Sanders of Trade-Ability. My intention was to hone my plumbing skills and, more significantly, learn how to lay bricks and plaster to an acceptable DIY standard. The courses more than achieved those goals. Indeed the high standard of the instruction was evidenced by the fact that the courses were attended by a substantial number of students that were already accomplished as artisans in other trades and who were there to add to their portfolio of marketable skills. I was particularly impressed by the patience of the instructors and their ability to draw out the best in all the students despite us all developing at widely varied rates.

Overall I was very impressed with the facilities, the standard of all the courses and the reasonable cost. I now feel more than competent to do work in all 3 disciplines not only for myself but also for other people on a small-scale commercial basis. I whole-heartedly recommend Trade-Ability.

Six of my facilities operatives have attended the painting and decorating course at Trade-Ability during 2009 in two sessions of three.   All thoroughly enjoyed the course and the feedback I received following the completion of each course was exceptional. The tutor was extremely skilled and knowledgeable and spent time with them as a group and one on one to ensure that the skills they learned over the weeks course were to an exceptional standard. The course content was extensive and specific to their requirements. They learned skills that they will be able to use within their current roles and in future careers. Just a quick e-mail to say how much I have enjoyed the Plastering, Tiling, Bricklaying & Plumbing courses which I have undertaken with Trade-Ability over the past few months as part of my resettlement package/grant, before I retire from the RAF early next year.

All the courses were conducted in a friendly environment and were well taught by the Instructors (Leigh, John, Ray & Alan) who took the time to explain trade practices and pass on many very helpful tricks of the trade; which was exactly what I was after to give me the confidence, level of knowledge and skills to undertake the many basic/ DIY refurbishment and improvement jobs I intend to undertake in my own house (and garden), over the next 6-months.

I also found the 4 course package to be very good value for money and would have no hesitation in recommending the courses to fellow Service leavers.

Hi Janice and Lee!  Thanks to your plastering training I have been none stop with jobs! I did 2 bedrooms the following week after the course which went very well, and past 2 weekends I have been plastering someones living room! which I am going back to put some cover matt paint over this weekend! Next job is a kitchen which i'm also re-wiring and plumbing! Inclused a  few pics as Lee asked!  Thanks Greatly      Chris Searcy!

All right chaps. Its Chris Locke, I did a plastering course with Lee Urry about 2 months ago. I'm just writing to thanks you so much for the brilliant time and new skills learnt at the course. I have started getting work and its becoming quite a little earner. I have started sub-contracting work out to all the other trades from gardeners, plumbers, builders etc so I'm pretty busy at the mo. Paul Rich - RAF Regiment SNCO

Paul had already attended Trade-Ability Plastering,Tiling and Bricklaying courses as part of his Resettlement grant.

When asked about the effectiveness of the Instuctor Paul said "Alan was very good, he gave a lot of information that was relevant and put it across in an easily understandable manner."

When asked what he had gained from the course "An understanding of Plumbing and how to rectify things that go wrong. It was great practise setting up a Y Plan system for Hot Water and Heating."

We asked Paul how he plans to use the skills he has gained " To start with I will use these skills in my own house, then branch out to friends and hopefully gain some customers in time"

Would Paul recommend Trade-Ability? "it was very enjoyable,conducted in a friendly environment and well taught by the Instructors"

 

Daniel English - Painter Decorator - Prince Build Peterborough

Daniel was given the opportunity to attend the Tiling course as a work placement from Prince Build. He said

"Everything I have learnt will help me become a good Tiler. I now have a new skill and confidence to fulfill my works needs"
