In Line with the government approach we will continue to be vigilant and cautious back to some form of normality.
For your safety we have reduced student numbers on our courses from 6 to 4. In doing so, it is important for us to know no one is going to drop out at the last minute. The only way we feel we can satisfy this is by asking you to pay the outstanding balance at least 7 days before your course commences by Bank Transfer. If payment is not received, your space on the course will be released and offered to someone else unless you have contacted us, and other arrangements have been agreed.
For us to ensure the correct spelling of your name on your course certificate, please confirm it by email.
All our courses are 4 days in duration. This allows extra time for the tutor to turn the workshop round safely. The Full course syllabus is comfortably covered in this time. Those students conducting BTEC, will have approximately 4 hours of theory homework to complete. Ideally, this should be carried out electronically.
Students undertaking the BTEC units need to bring Photographic ID with you on the first day to complete registration.
Our courses begin at 8.00am please arrive promptly ready to start the day. On arrival, Please put on your face mask, check in with Track and Trace, and you will be directed to a bay in the workshop which maintains 2m social distancing. We aim to keep social distancing wherever possible, if this cannot be adhered to, we require you to wear your personal facemask.
You will be allocated a Covid PPE box. It contains PPE along with Antibacterial hand sanitiser and sanitiser for your equipment. All equipment has been colour coded and you will be given your own set for your personal use so to prevent cross contamination.
Remember to wear appropriate clothing as you will get dirty. The workshop can be cold inside especially during periods of inactivity, therefore, we advise you bring some warm layers even in the summer months, as doors will remain open to help with ventilation.
Sturdy boots must be worn in the workshop at all times preferably steel toe caps.
Personal protective equipment must be worn when necessary and requested for your own safety.
There will be time for tea and coffee breaks during the morning and afternoon sessions. Your Lunch break will be approximately 30mins (those who wish to continue with their tasks may)
We have a fridge on site if you wish to keep things cold and a Microwave if you wish to bring something that will need warmed up.
There is a Tesco Express within a short walk and a Fish and Chip shop and Sainsbury’s within 5-10min walk. However, at these times we ask you bring your own lunch and do not leave the site as you could be contracting or spreading the virus. Please come and enjoy the day and then go home safely!
You can help yourself to as much Tea white, coffee, hot chocolate and Bovril from our Dispenser throughout the week however, we ask for a £3 contribution towards the cost of supplies. They are served in disposable cups.
Your training day should finish around about 4.00pm.
If you have any learning difficulties of any kind, please let us know before hand, so we are aware and can assist if necessary, to ensure you get the most out of your course.
Given the evolving nature of Coronavirus (COVID 19), we think it best to explain our Policy.
If you have booked onto a course with Trade-Ability and you develop a persistent cough, high temperature or have to self-isolate, please notify us as soon as possible
We will re-schedule your course to the earliest suitable date, honouring your deposit. We do not want to take any risks with our other students and staff.
Whilst attending the course or shortly afterwards, you find yourself or any close family members find themselves with a persistent cough and high temperature, stay away from the workshop and notify us as soon as possible.
We can then inform students you may have come into contact with and put the workshop into Lockdown. If this should happen, we believe we may have to close the workshop for about 2-3 weeks quarantine and a week to disinfect to ensure it is safe to re-open.
If we do have to Lock down the workshop all students’ deposits will be honoured, and we will re-schedule your course to the earliest possible suitable date.
If no suitable date can be found, a full refund of deposits will be made.
We hope that none of the above will occur, but would like to put all our current and future students mind at ease that we will do everything we possibly can to keep you safe while attending a course at Trade-Ability.
