Course Joining Instructions

In Line with the government approach we will continue to be vigilant and cautious back to some form of normality.

We have had to closed down twice because of the pandemic, when we reopened we ran with reduced capacity, we could only do this as we had some Government support. Now we are returning to six students, we are keeping most of the procedures that were put in place to reduce the chances of Covid Speading through our work shop.(we are glad to say have never been contacted by Track and Trace to  isolate)  we will no longer be asking you to use the ap, but you can if you wish.

As we are responsible for our Students and Tutors Health and Safety while they are attending our course, as part of keeping everyone safe  We now require that all students have had a vaccination to reduce the spread of Covid 19, there for we will ask you to bring your Vacination card or some other form proof that you have had one or more injections.

The remaining payment for your course is required 7 days before your course begins.

Those students conducting BTEC, will have approximately 4 hours of theory homework to complete. Ideally, this should be carried out electronically.

Students undertaking the BTEC units need to bring Photographic ID with you on the first day to complete registration.

Our courses begin at 8.00am please arrive promptly ready to start the day. On arrival, you will be directed to a bay in the workshop which maintains a practical social distance. We aim to keep social distancing wherever possible.

You will be allocated a Covid PPE box. It contains PPE along with Antibacterial hand sanitiser and sanitiser for your equipment. All equipment has been colour coded and you will be given your own set for your personal use so to prevent cross contamination.

Remember to wear appropriate clothing as you will get dirty. The workshop can be cold inside especially during periods of inactivity, therefore, we advise you bring some warm layers even in the summer months, as doors will remain open to help with ventilation.

Sturdy boots must be worn in the workshop at all times preferably steel toe caps.

Personal protective equipment must be worn when necessary and requested for your own safety.

Breaks

There will be time for tea and coffee breaks during the morning and afternoon sessions. Your Lunch break will be approximately 30mins (those who wish to continue with their tasks may)

We have a fridge on site if you wish to keep things cold and a Microwave if you wish to bring something that will need warmed up.

There is a Tesco Express within a short walk and a Fish and Chip shop and Sainsbury’s within 5-10min walk. However, at these times we ask you bring your own lunch and do not leave the site as you could be contracting or spreading the virus. Please come and enjoy the day and then go home safely!

You can help yourself to as much Tea white, coffee, hot chocolate and Bovril from our Dispenser throughout the week however, we ask for a £3 contribution towards the cost of supplies. They are served in disposable cups.

Your training day should finish around about 4.00pm.

If you have any learning difficulties of any kind, please let us know before hand, so we are aware and can assist if necessary, to ensure you get the most out of your course.

(COVID 19)

Given the evolving nature of Coronavirus (COVID 19), we think it best to explain our Policy.

If you have booked onto a course with Trade-Ability and you develop typical Covid 19 symptoms or have to self-isolate, please notify us as soon as possible.

We will re-schedule your course to the earliest suitable date, honouring your deposit. We do not want to take any risks with our other students and staff.

Whilst attending the course or shortly afterwards, you experience typical Covid 19 symtoms, please stay away from the workshop and notify us as soon as possible.

We can then inform students you may have come into contact with and put the workshop into Lockdown. If this should happen, we believe we may have to close the workshop for about 2-3 weeks quarantine and a week to disinfect to ensure it is safe to re-open.

If we do have to Lock down the workshop all students’ deposits will be honoured, and we will re-schedule your course to the earliest possible suitable date.

If no suitable date can be found, a full refund of deposits will be made.

We hope that none of the above will occur, but would like to put all our current and future students mind at ease that we will do everything we possibly can to keep you safe while attending a course at Trade-Ability.
